3. Place gba_bios file in the folder you've just created 

4. Place GBA games in that folder too just to be more organized.

Clockworkmod Recovery (CWM) on SGY

Install ClockworkMod Recovery on SGY

Samsung Galaxy Y has been seeing a lot of development these days. However, there has been no CyanogenMod or MIUI ROM for Galaxy Y but there are many custom ROMs out there which work really well, have bloatware removed with a cool UI. But the installation of these ROMs is much easier if you have ClockworkMod Recovery installed. We had previously mentioned about installation of Clockworkmod Recovery using ROM Manager but that is not possible anymore and we regret for the inconvenience. So here is the steps to install CWM on your SGY.

Why should you flash ClockworkMod Recovery ?

That is a genuine question one may ask because you can flash custom ROMs using stock recovery too then why Clockworkmod? The reason is that Clockworkmod Recovery gives some additional options which the stock recovery doesn’t. If you are flashing a custom ROM, you will need to wipe data/factory reset. You would then restore all contacts, sms and apps one by one which becomes tedious. To make it simple, you can boot into CWM recovery and make a nandroid backup. After flashing the ROM, boot into CWM recovery and select backup and restore>advanced restore>restore data and choose the nandroid backup you had made previously. This will restore all the data you had in your device previously including apps, contacts and sms.

Steps to install ClockworkMod Recovery on SGY 

1. Download CWM here : http://d*b.tt/sIzhV4JP

2. Connect your SGY to PC via USB cable.

3. Copy the .zip file ( without extracting it ) to your sdcard.

4. Disconnect and turn off your SGY.

5. Reboot into recovery mode ( Home+Volume up+Power button ).

6. Select 'update from sdcard'.

7. Now select the .zip file you've copied.

8. Go back and select 'Reboot system now'

Now you can boot into ClockworkMod Recovery using the same buttons as that of the stock recovery.

How to unroot your SGY

Note : Your phone should be rooted AND you really want to unroot your phone so bad. Otherwise you should skip this post.

1. Download update-unroot.zip from : Here

2. Copy the .zip file to your sdcard ( via USB ).

3. Switch off your phone.

4. Then boot into recovery mode by pressing Home+Volume Up+Power button. 

5. Scroll using volume up&down keys and select install from sdcard.

6. Select update-unroot.zip

7. Select Reboot system now.

8. Finally your phone is unrooted & you can check by yourself.

How to root your SGY

Warning : You should understand not only the benefits of rooting, but also any possible consequences (voided warranty, boot-loops, bricking, etc.) that might occur as a result of your root-related actions. 
What is Rooting ?
to "root" your phone essentially means to give yourself superuser access on it. This is like being the highest level of administrator for the device. This allows you to change the interface of your phone. Once your phone is "rooted" you can install custom ROMs (they look alot like themes, just google the name and you'll see plenty of examples). You can also download "rooted only" applications for use on the device.

1. Download update.zip from : Here
2. Copy update.zip to your sdcard ( via USB ).
3. Switch off your phone.
4. Then boot into recovery mode by pressing Home+Volume Up+Power button. 
5. Scroll using volume up&down keys and select install from sdcard
6. Select update.zip
7. Finally your phone is rooted and select reboot system now.


Note : after you root your phone you'll find a 'Superuser' app, it's a sign that you've successfully rooted your phone

Stock Rom DXLB1 for SGY via Odin

Unofficial Odin firmware package for Samsung GT-S5360

Do at your own risk.

Warning : Make sure your battery is at least 70%, so it won't die during the proccess.

1. Download this firmware and odin :

• Odin v1.85 : Here

2. Extract Odin.

3. Open Odin and do this :

• Place PDA .tar file in PDA
• MODEM in PHONE
• CSC in CSC
• Do not use pit file, and do not tick repartition!

4. Turn off your SGY.
5. Go to Download Mode ( press & hold Home+Volume Down+Power button ) then after you see an exclamation mark, press the Volume up button.
6. Once done, connect your SGY to your PC/Laptop & wait till Odin recognize your device and the left-most box in the ID:COM turns yellow.

7. Click START.

8. Wait till the proccess is over and you're done ! 

PS : You can change the language at Pengaturan ( Settings ) if you're not Indonesian.
